J. WARREN THOMAS DIES AT POCATELLO
Funeral services for J. Warren Thomas, 64, who died April 23, 1969 at the Bannock Memorial Hospital, Pocatello, of natural causes, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the malad LDS Fourth Ward Chapel with Bishop Earl Gillies officiating.
Mr. Thomas was born August 29, 1904 at St. John, a son of Thoms S. and Emma Peterson Thomas. He married Verda Sorensen, April 7, 1930 at Farmington, Utah.
An accountant, Mr. Thomas was manager of the Oneida County Grain Growers Coop. for several years and was also employed by the Evans Co-op Dept. Store and J.N. Ireland & Co. Bankers. He attended Idaho State University, was a member of the LDS Church, served as a scoutmaster for Boy Scouts and was a former member of the Malad Lions Club and Malad Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include his widow; a son, Captain A. Brent Thomas, US Army, Fort Lewis, WA; four grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters: Dr. Thomas S. Thomas, Morristown, NJ; Evan Thomas, Provo; Pete Thomas and Mrs. D.L. (Margaret) Evans, both of Malad City; Mrs. Leland (Melba) Jones and Mrs. Ralph (Merle) Jones, both of Pocatello, and Mrs. Ellarene Price, Provo. A son, W. Dean Thomas, preceded him in death at Pocatello on December 25, 1964.
Burial will be at the Malad City Cemetery directed by the Benson Funeral Home.
