BLAINE FLOYD PORTER

KEARNS–Blaine Floyd Porter, 57, former Malad resident, died November 6, 1989, near Elko, Nevada, of a massive heart attack.
According to information provided by a friend, Porter was on his way to work in his pickup truck when the heart attack occurred. His vehicle ran off the road and into a river. When he didn’t report for work, a search was initiated, and the vehicle was found the next day submerged in water.
Porter worked in the Malad area for several years on the construction crew that put in Interstate 15.
He was born April 22, 1932 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Floyd and Edna Cleary Porter. He married Madiliene Rae Harryman in Salt lake City, Utah. He was later divorced.
Blaine was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the American Legion in Malad, Idaho. He was employed at Acme Concrete for 25 years.
Survivors include his children, Steven Porter and wife, Jackie, West Jordan; Mrs. Trent (Julie) Steck, Kearns; Scott Porter, Troy Porter and David Porter, all Midvale; Mrs. Gerry (Billie Jo) Melton, Condon, Montana; seven grandchildren, Brandi, Jessica, T. J., Monte, Lance, Amanda and Jared; sisters Mrs. Ray (Cora) Rasmussen, both Bountiful; Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) Francis, Murray. Preceded in death by a brother, Robert Porter, sister, Billie Hansen.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 10, 1989 at the Goff Mortuary Chapel. Interment Redwood Memorial Estates.
