Joshua Morgan Phillips, 26, of Pocatello passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009.
Josh was born March 22, 1983 in Logan, Utah to Morgan Kerry Phillips and Debbie Erickson Jensen. Josh has three precious little sisters, Tia, Tiffany and Taneyka. The family lived in Malad until Josh was almost eight. They moved to Pocatello where he attended Ellis Elementary Hawthorne Jr. High and Highland High School. At age 15, he attended an academic program in Western Samoa. He loved living on the beach and swimming in the crystal blue water. He always planned on going back.
He lived in Malad and Inkom for a time while he worked at Idaho Milling and Grain. He also worked with his Dad at a local gun and pawn shop. For the past two years he has worked on oil rigs in Wyoming, Colorado and Utah.
Josh loved spending time with his family. He loved 4-wheeling, hiking, music, shooting, guns, playing video games, watching cartoons and moves, and being with his friends.
Josh was very outgoing and the life of any party. He loved making people laugh and always went for the reaction. It worked, especially well with his sisters. He had a huge heart and was very compassionate.
He loved helping older ladies at the grocery store. He wanted people to know that even though he had pierced ears and tattoos that he was still a nice boy. Josh was always open-minded and never judgmental.
We will miss him more than words can say. He left us knowing how much we loved him.
Josh is survived by his mother and step-dad, Debbie and Craig Jensen; his father and step-mother, Kerry and Sheree Phillips; his sisters: Tia (Miles) Henderson, Tiffany (Chance) Cannon, and Taneyka Phillips; grandparents, Edward and Clarice Erickson, and Barbara Phillips; and his niece and nephew Ashlynn and Tyson Cannon.
He was preceded in death by his Grandpa Harter H. “Pete” Phillips and his cousin, Spencer Davis.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 30, in the Whitaker LDS First Ward Chapel. Burial followed at the Lava Hot Springs Cemetery.
