Former Maladian Dies At Pocatello
Walter Henry Peck, 80, Pocatello postmaster during World War I, died Thursday at his home at Pocatello.
He operated the Peck Printing Co. at Pocatello for several years, the Peck Book store from 1922 to 1929, and the Peck Insurance Co. from that time until his death. He was a former member of the Pocatello School Board and the Bannock County Hospital Board.
Mr. Peck was born at Oxford, Oct. 3, 1876, to Dwight and Martha Fibiddlecomb Peck. He married Margaret Virginia Jones at Malad in 1900.
He published a newspaper at Malad for a few years before going to Blackfoot about 1906. From Blackfoot he went to Pocatello.
His wife died July 23, 1951.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Martha Gish, Twin Falls, and Mrs. Clara Howard, San Carlos, Calif.
