Services Friday for Ira R. Moon
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Cherry Creek LDS Ward chapel for Ira R. Moon, 72, who died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 1967 at an Ogden hospital following a long illness.
Mr. Moon was born December 13, 1894 at Henderson Creek, a son of Helorum and Charlotte Harris Moon. He married Lula Merle Jones February 11, 1920 at Samaria and their marriage was solemnized May 23, 1923 in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was an active member of the LDS High Priests Quorum, ward chorister 42 years, a stake missionary, and served 17 years as clerk in the Cherry Creek Ward. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter, Gale Moon, Idaho Falls; Franklin Moon, Ogden and mrs. Jay (Cleo) Macfarlane, Riverside; 12 grandchildren; four brothers, Will Moon, Malad; Verl Moon, Ogden; Ralph Moon, Salt Lake City; Dolph Moon, Seaside, Oregon; and two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Jones and Elva Moon, Malad.
Friends may call at the Benson Funeral Home Thursday evening and at the chapel Friday after 9 a.m.
