Elaine Griffiths Madson, 25 October 1925

Elaine Griffiths Madson, 75, of Malad, passed away October 18, 1996 in the Oneida County Hospital of heart failure.

She was born October 25, 1925 in Malad City, a daughter of David and Maude Lizette Williams Griffiths. She grew up and was educated in Malad and was a graduate of the class of 1938. She also graduated from cosmetology school in Pocatello.

She married John “Jack” Madson March 14, 1942 in Las Vegas, NV and the marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They had lived in Inglewood, CA for six years. In 1947 they returned to Malad, where they had since lived.

She worked for many years at the Lucille Dress Shop and for 33 years had worked with Jack at the Mald Bowl. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in the Primary for several years.

She is survived by her husband, jack of malad; one son and his wife, Brent and Flossie Madson of Soda Springs; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Dave (Carol) Deschamps of St. John and Mrs. Ron (Donna) Thomas of Milwaukee, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.

Funeral services will be held October 22, 1996 in the Benson Horsley Funeral Home, Malad. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
