JORGENSON, FRANK “RED” , October 19, 1943 – September 11, 2008
Frank (Red) Jorgenson, 64, of Malad, Idaho passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 1008 in his sleep of a heart attack. Red was born Oct. 19, 1943 in Preston, Idaho to Fred and Lilly Jorgenson. He was the youngest of ten children.
Red, as he preferred to be called, is survived by his wife, Linda; a son, Frank; three daughters, Cherrie Gibson, Coleen Griffin and Brandy Lopez; a brother Karl; three sisters, Ethel Smith, Beth Reinardy and Tiney Schafer; plus 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Red completed a four year hitch in the U.S. Army and then for a period of time worked cattle on a ranch in Big Piney, Wyoming, and then started driving long-haul, over-the-road trucks for his brother Karl, moving these manufactured housing units from the factory to dealerships, or the places they were to be installed on. He loved this work.
Red was a cook during his tour of duty in the military, and was used to cooking for large groups of people, so this naturally carried over to his being delegated the family cook at the annual Jorgenson family reunions. He loved to cook over open wood fires, ca carryover from his days as a ranch hand in Wyoming.
Red will be sorely missed by all who knew him. He was cremated as per his wishes, so no services are planned at this time.
