Services for Edith L. Howard, 85, formerly of Pocatello and Rexburg, who died Jan. 2, 1994, after a long illness while under the care of her daughter LaWanda Sutton of Sandy, Utah, will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 6, at the Manning Funeral Home in Pocatello.

Friends may call for an hour prior to services Thursday.

Burial will be at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Pocatello.

She was born Jan. 5, 1908 in Malad, a daughter of Joseph T. Thomas and Sarah Lewis Thomas.

She married Joseph R. Howard Feb. 14, 1928, in Pocatello. Their marriage later was solemnized in the Logan, Utah, LDS Temple.

She was a member of the LDS Church and served in all the auxiliaries including the Relief Society, Primary and Young Women presidencies.

Surviving are her daughter and sons, LaWanda Sutton of Sandy, Leo J. Howard of Boise and Lynn R. Howard of Provo, Utah; a sister, Laura Curzon of Pocatello, 15 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a grandson.
