ELCOCK, FERN JONES, September 29, 1915 – May 19, 1940
Funeral services for Fern Jones Elcock were held Monday afternoon in the Malad Stake Tabernacle with Bishop Harold Jones of St. John presiding. Speakers were Arch Harris and Bishop J. M. Isaacson; musical numbers were a quartet, Morgan and Lester Tovey and Ed Woozley and Melvin Yearsley; vocal solo, Mrs. Margaret E. Jones; duet, Morgan and Lester Tovey; all musical numbers being accompanied by Mrs. Marian Talbot who also played the prelude and postlude.
Interment was in the Malad cemetery with Phillip Reese dedicating the grave. Invocation was by Henry Noble and benediction by John Blaisdell. The capacity audience in attendance spoke highly of the esteem in which Mrs. Elcock and her family are held.
Fern Jones Elcock was born in Malad on September 29, 1915, the daughter of Leonard and Clara James Jones. She attended the St. John school and later graduated from Malad High School. She was employed in the community hospital and later in the Vogue Dress Shop.
On June 17, 1938, she was married to Lynn Elcock. Death resulted from heart disease from which Mrs. Elcock has suffered for many years.
Surviving are her husband, her parents and two sisters: Mrs. Hannah Reese of Garfield and Miss Shirley Jones of Malad.
