JOHN T. HARRISON (died 14 April 1950)
Funeral Monday For John T. Harrison
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Third ward LDS chapel for John T. Harrison, 75, who passed away Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City. Bishop Jesse Hughes presided. Mrs. Pauline Atkinson played the prelude and postlude and accompanied the musical numbers. The prayer at the home was offered by Spencer Allen; invocation, LaVen Williams, benediction W.W. Thomas; the dedication of the grave, J. Guy Benson. The speakers were E.N. Crowther and W.H. Rutter. The musical numbers consisted of vocal solo, Stillman Harris; quartet, L.G. Corbridge, and son, Eldon, Lon and Dale.
Mr. Harrison was born May 20, 1874 in Bradford, Yorkshire, England, a son of John Harrison and Martha Webber. He came to the United States with his parents, when he was eight years of age. He lived with his parents at Swan Lake, Idaho for a number of years. He later moved to Malad where he resided the remainder of his life. He was employed by the Oregon Short Line Railroad company until his retirement a few years ago.
He married Mary Ann Roberts at Malad, December 31, 1903. She died in 1923.
He is survived by two sons and three daughters, David R. and Mabel, Salt Lake city; Mary, Margaret and Robert, Malad; three brothers and one sister, Edward Williams and Robert Harrison and Mr. Rebecca Butler, Vancouver B.C. Canada.
