She married Leigh Harrison in 1928. They lived and farmed at the Sandridge, west of Malad, for many years. Leigh died in 1983.

Their family included three sons: Bob (Marj) Harrison of Pocatello, Idaho; Jack (Diana) Harrison of Kingman, Arizona; and Allen (Laurie) Harrison of Bear Lake, Idaho. Afton has 12 grandchildren (three deceased); 18 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren (one deceased).

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Afton’s interests and hobbies center around family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, and looked forward to the productions and entertainment at the Iron Door Theater. She loved picnics, being outdoors and tending to her yard and flowers. Many enjoyable years were spent being a member of a bowling team and participating as a member of the pinochle club. She enjoyed nothing more than family dinners and get-togethers. She was a true matriarch and a constant support for her family. She will be missed by all she touched.
