GIBBS, NEWEL, April 28, 1912 – January 31, 1966

Funeral services for Newel Gibbs, 53, who died Monday of a long illness in the Veteran’s Hospital in Salt Lake City will be held Friday in the Portage LDS Ward Chapel.

Mr. Gibbs was born April 28, 1912 in Portage, a son of J. Edward and Mary Hoskins Gibbs. He married Fern Stolworthy, August 8 1938 at Eureka, CA and was later divorced. He married Mary Roberts in 1962 at Boulder, CO.

He attended Malad schools, was a member of the LDS Church and a World War Ii veteran.
Survivors include his widow, Boulder, CO; one son, Keith Gibbs, Salt Lake City; his mother, Malad; two brothers and three sisters, Alfred K. Gibbs, Twin Falls; Ralph C. Gibbs, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Oscar (Lona) Wordal, Spokane, WA; Mrs. Rulon (Eleanor) Wright, Hyrum, and Mrs. Nolan (Letitia) Blasidell, Malad.

Burial will be in the Portage cemetery under the direction of the Benson Funeral Home.
