GLEED, MARY R. MORGAN
Mary R. Morgan Gleed, 83, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, loved by all that knew her, died January 28, 1990 at the Oneida Hospital of an extended illness.
She was born march 18, 1906 in Samaria, Idaho, a daughter of Thomas and Margaret Richards Morgan. She attended school in Samaria until the family moved to Pleasantview. She graduated from Malad High School and Malad Seminary.
She married Hubert S. Gleed, September 4, 1930 in the Salt lake Temple. She lived in Malad, Idaho until 1963 when the family moved to John Day, Oregon. In 1972, the family moved from John Day and returned to Malad.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, having served as an organist, Relief Society President, visiting teacher, Sunday school teacher, in the Young Women’s organization, genealogist, temple officiator and temple organist. At the time of her death she was serving as a scribe for her Patriarch husband. She was a member of the Literary Club and the War Mothers.
She had been an active musician all her life. At age 10 she played in her father’s band. She also has played the organ and the piano and has been a piano teacher for most of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Hubert; three sons, Norman Hubert Gleed, Eagle, ID; Floyd M. Gleed, Malad, ID; Gordon K. Gleed, Elk City, ID; two daughters, Mrs. larry E. (JoAnn) tuttle, North Ogden, UT; Mrs. Dennis (Mary Margaret) Johnson, Holliiday, UT; twelve grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren; one brother and one sister, Thomas Morgan of Las Vegas, NV, and Myra Knutsen of Malad. She was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Henry Gleed.
