Velva Lee Allen Rose
Velva Lee Allen Rose, 71, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, died December 20, 2010 peacefully in her home.

She graduated from Bear River High School in 1957 and then attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. While attending the Business College, she worked in the magazine department in the Relief Society Building.
She married Norman H. Rose April 11, 1958 in Logan, Utah temple, and they are the parents of 7 sons and 3 daughters.

Velva was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At her passing she was serving as the Primary pianist and Visiting Teacher in the Downey First
Ward. She loved and was dedicated to doing genealogical work specifically “name extraction” on her home computer. She served in many other capacities of the church including Relief Society counselor and Primary teacher and leader. After her husband’s passing, she served in the England Manchester Mission from February 2003 to August 2004.
Velva always had a positive attitude and optimistic outlook on life and its’ many challenges. She was a wonderful friend to everyone she met. She perfected the “do you know?” conversation and confirmed time and time again that “the world is a small place”.
Velva’s hands were always busy either tatting, crocheting, embroidering, knitting or sewing some beautiful doilies, afghans, bookmarkers, temple aprons, temple altar doilies, foot pillows and cowboy chaps. She received great joy by gifting these lovingly made items to many friends and family members.
