Margaret Ann Luedtke

POCATELLO – Margaret Ann Luedtke, 79, of Pocatello, passed away late Saturday, September 5, 1998, at a local care center following an extended illness.

She was born September 28, 1918, in Plankington, South Dakota, a daughter of Benjamin and Anna Margaretha Hein Stulken. As a young girl, she attended schools in South Dakota and also lived in Chicago and Wausau, Wisconsin. She moved to Malad, Idaho in 1961, and in 1970 moved to Pocatello.

On December 6, 1947, she married William Richard Luedtke in Wausau, Wisconsin. He passed away December 17, 1968.

While living in Malad she worked as a bookkeeper for the Chat-N-Chew Café and Motel. After moving to Pocatello she managed the Travel Lodge Motel on North Main and later worked in the drapery department at the L.D. Store. Her most recent employment was a bookkeeper for the Grease Monkey.

She liked playing cards, especially bridge and pinochle. She also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, reading and crocheting. She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church.

Surviving family include two sons, Bill Luedtke, Boise, Idaho, and Tom (Deanna) Luedtke, Nampa, Idaho; a daughter, Linda (Tim) Clark, a daughter-in-law, Karla Luedtke, all of Pocatello; two brothers, Jim Stulken, Alvin (Gerry) Stulken, all of Rapid City, South Dakota; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, September 9, 1998, at 1 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, 510 N. 12th Ave., with the Rev. Manfred Berndt of the Grace Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in Mountainview Cemetery. The family will meet with friends this evening from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Manning-Wheatley Funeral Chapel, and Wednesday for one hour prior to the services.
