Zilla Elcock Swenson, 86, of Malad, died Friday, Sept. 23, 1994, in Malad.

She was born February 29, 1908, in Malad, a daughter of Charles and Julia May Gibson Elcock.

She grew up and was educated in Malad, was a graduate of Malad High School and later attended Henager’s Business School.

She worked for several years for the Ireland Bank and also for Mountain Bell Telephone Co.

She married Mont A. Swenson Feb. 20, 1954, in Pocatello, Idaho. After her marriage, she had worked for the A.S.C.S. Office, the Selective Service and the U.S. Forest Service, retiring in 1969. Mrs. Swenson was a member of the LDS Church.

She is survived by her husband, Mont. A. Swenson, of Malad; 3 sons and their wives; Mont Allen and Sheila Swenson of Rupert; William (Bill) E. and Kathy Swenson of Pocatello; Robert (Bob) E. and Tess Swenson of Elko, Nevada; 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 26 in the Malad 4th Ward Chapel with Bishop Wendell Smith officiating. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 26, at noon in the Malad LDS 4th Ward chapel, with Bishop Wendell Smith officiating. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N., Malad, on Sunday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Monday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
