Swan Lake…Wilma Leone Marshall Sorensen 97, longtime resident passed away on August 17th, 2022, at the Franklin County Medical Center 2 ½ months shy of her 98th birthday.

Mom was born October 23, 1924, to John Ellis Marshall and Alma Marie Britton Marshall.

Mom was born and raised in Downey, Idaho.

She was a graduate of Downey High School. While in high school she met her eternal sweetheart. They married on December 30, 1944, while Dad was home on leave. Mom was a convert to the church. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on October 29, 1947. Mom lived all her married life in Swan Lake except for a short time while Dad was stationed at the Port Angeles Washington Air Station while in the Navy.

They started their family with the birth of a son Craig, and 2 more sons followed Sheldon and Darwin. A fourth child and only daughter, Lauralee would soon bless their family. Together Mom and Dad made their home in Swan Lake, where they farmed and ranched for many years.

Mom enjoyed growing a large garden, and canning. Mom also loved camping, fishing, hunting, picnics, following her children in sports and being a member of the Singing Mothers. Mom made the best homemade bread! She and Dad loved to dance, their favorite being the waltz & foxtrot.

Mom was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many callings throughout her life.

Mom is preceded in death by her parents, John and Alma; sisters, Fay, Lois and Gwen; brother Don; husband Douglas; son Craig & 2 great grandsons.

She is survived by a sister Shirlie Swartz- Chubbuck, Idaho; sons Sheldon (Elaine)-Burley, Idaho, Darwin (Peggy)-Swan Lake, Idaho, daughter Lauralee (Clyde) Hart- Lexington, Virginia and daughter-in-law Marna Sorensen-Pocatello, Idaho. Mom and Dad have 14 grandchildren and numerous great and great -great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held on Saturday August 27th, 2022.
