William A Wayman, Jr.

William A Wayman, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on October 2, 2012 at the home of his daughter Bobbie Ward of Malad, Idaho. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Bill was born November 14, 1920 in Logan, Utah to parents William A. Wayman and Helen Elizabeth Hall. He attended Logan city schools and graduated from Logan High School in 1939. He attended Utah State University prior to and following World War II. Bill married his eternal sweetheart, Alice Lewis in the Logan LDS Temple on July 26, 1944. Their union was blessed with five daughters and family became the main focus of their lives.
While attending USU in 1949, Bill was given the opportunity to work as a teller at the Logan First National Bank. Thus began his banking career which concluded when he retired in 1986 as Regional Vice President of Manager of Logan’s Zion’s First National Bank.
Bill was civic minded and for several years was Chairman of the Democratic party in Cache County. He was appointed by Governor Calvin Rampton to a position on the merit council for the state of Utah. Later, Governor Scott Matheson appointed Bill to the Board of Directors of the Utah Housing finance Agency where he served for two terms.
Bill was an active member of the LDS church, serving in many ward and stake positions. Following retirement from banking, Bill and Alice served an LDS mission to the Deseret Industries. They enjoyed traveling, especially with Elderhostels and visiting their children and grandchildren. In 1998, Bill and Alice moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where they met many new and dear friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his dear wife of 67 years and is survived by his brother Russell Wayman of Logan, Utah, his sister, LuDean Hunsaker, Odgen, Utah, daughters Trudy Yeates, Camarillo, CA., Helen (Richard) Ward, Malad, ID, Bobbie (Ryan) Ward, Malad ID, Billie (Bill) Murray, Bountiful, UT, Janet Wayman, West Jordan, UT, 26 grandchildren and 52 great-grandchildren .
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday October 8, 2012 at the Malad LDS 6th Ward chapel, 400 N. 200 W., Malad, Idaho. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, October 7th from 7-8 p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. and again on Monday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home prior to the service. Internment will follow in the Logan City Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. A Special thanks is extended to Rachel Madson and Sharon Jenkins of Access Hospice and Shirley Carter from the Malad Home Health for their kind and loving care. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be given to the LDS Humanitarian aid of the LDS Church.
