Wendell LeRoy Hulse

LAYTON – Wendell LeRoy Hulse, age 82, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 1998 at his home in Layton.

He was born November 26, 1916, in Weston, Idaho, a son of Joseph William and Charlott Lofthouse Hulse. He married LaVonia Coleman, July 17, 1940 in the Logan LDS Temple.

Wendell lived in Preston Idaho for 26 years, Brememton, Washington for 10 years and Layton, Utah for the last 46 years. He served in the Army during World War II. He worked as a sheet metal worker at Hill Field until his retirement.

He was a member of the LDS Layton 11th Ward. He served in many positions, including an 18 month LDS Mission with his wife in Cleveland, Ohio. He also served as a Temple worker for 12 years.

Surviving are his wife, LaVonia Hulse, of Layton; one daughter Bette (Tom) Davis, Layton; seven grandchildren four great grandchildren. Three foster children and several foster grandchildren and foster great-grandchildren; also surviving are two brothers, Vernon Hulse, Malad, Idaho; DeVar Hulse, Twin Falls, Idaho; three sisters, Lelia (Vance) Halliday, Charlott (Roy) Smith, and Pearl Christensen.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, three sisters and a son, William (Bill) Hulse.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, October 5, 1998 at the Lindquist Layton Mortuary, 1867 North Fairfield Rd., where friends and family may call Sunday, 6-8 p.m. and Monday, 9:45 – 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
