Funeral services held at Spokane for Warren J. Parry

Funeral services were held December 16 in Spokane, Washington, for Warren J. Parry, 62, who passed away at his home December 13 [1978].

Warren J. Parry was born July 27, 1916 at Malad, the son of Paul and Millie Jones Parry. He graduated from Malad High School where he was active in sports. He attended Utah State Agricultural College in Logan. He worked for the government in the Veteran’s Administration where he was Head Finance Officer of the VA Hospital in Spokane until his retirement.

He enjoyed attending hockey games, coaching basketball and had won many bowling trophies. He was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Short, whom he met while she was teaching school in Malad, and two sons; Robert, Charlotte, North Carolina; and James of Spokane; five grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and two sisters, Jack Parry of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Mrs. Forrest (LaDean[sic]) Dixon of Jerome, Idaho, Bill Parry of Ogden, Utah; and Mrs. Gordon (Barbara) Olson of Downey, Idaho.

FUNERAL SERVICES

Funeral services were held in the Alwin[sic] Chapel of the Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home in Spokane with Bishop L.R. Nix officiating.

Prayers were offered by Bill Parry and Gordon Olson with family prayer by Jack Parry.

Robert Parry gave the life sketch with remarks by James Parry, Jack Parry and Bishop Nix.

Taped music selections included “Beautiful Isle of Somewhere”, “One Day at a Time” and “Somewhere My Love.”

INTERMENT

Burial was in the Pines Cemetery with Forrest Dixon giving the dedicatory prayer.

The family suggested contributions to the American Cancer Society.
