Vernon Evans Morse
Vernon Evans Morse, 75, died at home January 20, 1993, after an extended illness.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 23, al the Boise Sixth Ward Chapel with Bishop Mike Lindstrom officiating. Burial was at Terrace Lawn Memorial Garden. Arrangements were under the direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.
Vernon was born May 17, 1917, in Samaria. He graduated from Malad High School and later from Albion State Normal College, where he met Margaret Helen Taylor. They were married June 11, 1939. Vernon taught school in Ammon, and in Arimo, before moving his family to Boise in 1949. He worked for Triangle Dairy for 17 years, serving as Credit Manager and Officer Manager. He was the president of the Boise Chapter of the Administrative Management Society in 1965. After getting his B. A. degree (and later his M.A.), he returned to his first love, teaching. In 1985, he retired after 17 years of teaching in the Nampa School District.
Vernon was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in numerous positions of service and leadership in the Sunday School, Stake Mutual, Bishopric, and most recently, Genealogical Research.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; a brother, William E. Morse, III of Boise; a sister, Verla Hill of Samaria; two sons, Roger Morse of Salt Lake City, and Rod Morse of Meridian; two daughters, Rena Nelson of Boise, and Helen Chase of Pocatello; 23 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Morse and Sarah Evans Morse; by a brother Waldorf Morse and a sister, Velma Eckert.
