Vera Toler Hall

Vera Toler Hall valiantly completed her time here in mortality on June 12, 2012. She graciously endured the complications of Parkinson’s disease for 12 years. Her final days were spent in the special care of Ridgewind Living Center in Pocatello, Idaho.

She was born April 28th 1929 in Downey Idaho to Lemuel Massie Toler and Goldie Ann Armstrong Toler.

Her childhood years were spent in Robin, Idaho relishing in the beauties of country living, where she learned the value of hard work. She attended school in Robin and graduated from Arimo High School in 1946.

Vera married her sweetheart Wayne E. Hall on September 25th 1946 in the Idaho Falls, Idaho Temple. She was an anchor to him and his duties as a husband, father, and in his many church and community responsibilities for over 65 years.

Music was a very important part of her life, for a number of years she played the piano in a dance band along side of Dad. She was highly recommended to play the organ and accompany others to sing at funerals and other occasions.

Vera was a devoted member of the LDS church all of her life, she faithfully served as a visiting teacher, primary teacher, Relief Society President and Young Women’s President. Her compassionate service has touched the lives of many.

Mom knew what it meant to “live within your means”. She made the family’s dollars stretch by gardening, canning, sewing our clothes and making our quilts. She was organized in every sense of the word, always providing a clean and cozy home with lots of love and yummy homemade meals with gospel lessons around the kitchen table. She taught more by her example than by her words.

Mom may not have earned the accolades of man in this world, any degrees from colleges or universities, or have been recognized as a great community leader, but when her name is called, she can report with her head held high, knowing she honored the greatest position and calling of all – Mother.

We love you; and will miss your sweet spirit. We are secure in our knowledge of where you are and whom you are with. Thank you for being an inspiration in our lives.

Vera is survived by her eternal companion Wayne E. Hall; her children VeeAnn Yarger, Myra (Rod) Miles, Barry (Tina) Hall, JoLene (Boyce) Barnes, Mel (Lisa) Hall, Kristen (Bryan) Stucki, and Richard (Pearl) Martinez and boys, 30 grandchildren, and 36 great grandchildren. Still living are her brother Maurice (Helen) Toler and sister Beverly Ware.

She was preceded in death by her parents, precious grandchildren Stetson Miles Hall and Carly Marie Dodge; her dear sisters Lois Toler, Helen Gunter, and Dorothy Barger.

Her love of her family both living and deceased instilled in her a great desire to do family history work. We are blessed to be recipients of her dedicated efforts in this great work.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 16th 2012 at twelve noon at the McCammon Stake Center, with Bishop Don Bates officiating.

The Family will receive friends for a viewing Friday June 15th 2012 from 6 to 8 pm; and at 10 to 11:45 am before the services.

We wish to express to the staff of Ridgewind Living Center, Creekside Hospice, Dr. John Lassere, Lea Price, and especially to our dedicated, devoted Dad, our deepest thanks and gratitude for the tender loving care that was extended to our dear Mother.
