Vera Payne Roper

Vera Marie Payne Roper, 76, of 454 Moreland passed away Thursday morning, June 25,1992 at local health care center following an extended illness.

She was born November 3, 1915, at Arbon, Idaho, the daughter of James L. and Sarah Maude Davis Payne. She attended school in Arbon Valley and Pocatello High School.

She married Charles E. Roper, September 2, 1933, in Pocatello. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Mrs. Roper had served several years as a Primary teacher in the LDS 5th Ward.

She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, making afghans, and growing flowers, especially roses. She always enjoyed children and had cared for a number of them in her home over the years.

Survivors include her husband, Charles of Pocatello; two sons, Ted E. Roper of Boise, Idaho; and Mark C. Roper of North Pole, Alaska; one brother, Ross D. Payne of Sandpoint, Idaho; one sister, Caroll Jorgenson of Pocatello; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Linda.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, June 29, 1992 at 12 noon at the LDS West Stake Center at Hawthorne and Eldredge with Bishop’s Couselor Rodney Johnson officiating. Interment was in the Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
