Vera G. Hall

VERA HALL (died 12 Dec 1956)
Mrs. Vera G. Hall, 57, Portage, was killed instantly when her car collided with the Malad train at Portage, 3 p.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Hall was alone in the car at the time of the accident.
G.W. Christensen, the train engineer, said he did not see the Hall car until the moment of impact. The car was thrown 100 feet. Mrs. Hall was traveling on the Portage lane road and enroute to Tremonton when the accident occurred.
Funeral services are scheduled 1 p.m., Saturday, at Portage. Friends may call at the family home in Portage from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday evening and until time of services Saturday.
Mrs. Hall was born August 10, 1899 at Portage. A member of the LDS Church, she was a counselor in the Relief Society presidency of the Portage ward and Malad stake; a member of the Portage Ward Primary presidency; a teacher in the Sunday School and M.I.A., a Relief Society visiting teacher; president of the PTA in Portage and the North Box Elder district.
Harold Hall, her husband, was killed in 1949 in a Box Elder, Utah car accident.
Surviving are the following sons and daughters: H. Byron Hall, Dayton, Ohio; Roland J. Hall, Conega Park, Calif.; Mrs. Vera Jean Stevenson, Logan; Mrs. Norma Coombs, Logan; Nadine Hall, BYU student, Provo; Irene Hall, Portage; nine grandchildren, four brothers and one sister, Melvin Gibbs, Idaho Falls; Mrs. John Conley, Portage; Leroy E. Gibbs, Wendell, Idaho; Arthur L. Gibbs, Walter E. Gibbs, Portage.
