Our loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Velma Delone Williams Redington, age 78, died June 21, 1995 in Salt lake City.

Born January 7, 1917 in Malad City, Idaho, the oldest child of John Haynes and Eleanor Jones Williams. Married Edward D. Payne, July 29, 1935. he died shortly after they married. Married George Ivan “Sam” Redington, April 1, 1938. He died September 29, 1969.

She was a member of the LDS Church and was retired from the Utah State Retirement Systems. She lived in Oxford, Nampa and Malad City, Idaho and was living in Murray at the time of her death. She was an avid reader, who lived to crochet and took great pride in her rose garden. Most important were her grandchildren, her great-grandson, nieces, nephews and other family members. Her greatest attribute was her ability to overcome the many trials she had in life.

Survivors include her two sons, John D. (Pam) Redington, North Salt Lake and Scott G. (Pat) Redington, West Valley; five brothers and four sisters, Jack W. (Avis) Williams Roy; Mary J. Peden, Dan C, (LaZell) Williams, Bonnie Davis, all of Malad, Idaho; Dean L. (Mary Lou) Williams, Elanor A. Redington, both of Pocatello, Idaho; Dale D. Williams, West Valley; Farrel J. (Lorette) Williams, Tremonton; and Eddis K. (Stan) Wright, Salt Lake; also survived 14 grandchildren, and one great-grandson. Preceded in her death by her parents, husbands, daughters, DuMayne, Una Loy and Shari and sons, Jackie and Gary.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 12 noon at the McDougal Funeral Home, 4330 So. Redwood Rd., where friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. And Saturday from 11 to 11:45 a.m. Internment in the Malad City Cemetery, Malad, Idaho.
