Treena Jacobsen Tubbs, (1958)

Malad….Treena Jacobsen Tubbs, 52, longtime resident of Malad, ID passed away Thursday July 28, 2011 following a courageous struggle with cancer.

Treena was born in Harbor City, California on December 17, 1958 To Myrna and Wayne Jacobsen. She moved to Malad as a young girl and finished her education there. She also graduated from ISU Vo-Tech with a degree in Office Occupations.

Treena married John Tubbs on January 3, 1975, in Malad.

She was a devoted, loving mother to Hydee and Taia.

During her career, Treena worked at several offices, including the USDA ASCS office in Malad for a number of years, and most recently at the Pocatello VA Outreach Clinic for 19 years. She was proud of her service to veterans and received national recognition for it in 2009.

She also enjoyed serving her community as a member of the Oneida County Hospital Board of Trustees.

She had a great wit, and was a truly kind, honest and loyal friend. She treated those with whom she came in contact with respect, and would help anyone in need without expecting anything in return. Many benefitted by her kindness.

Treena will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, sister, nana, aunt, and friend. She is survived by her husband John; daughters Hydee (Dennis) Becker of St. Paul, Minnesota and Taia (Mark) Murray of Preston, ID; grandchildren Jett, Preslie & Paisyn Murray and Theodore & Rose Becker; and brothers Chip (Cheri) Jacobsen and Twig (Laura) Jacobsen. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her grandparents with whom she had a close relationship.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at 12:00 noon in the Malad LDS 3rd Ward Chapel, 200 N 400 W. Friends may visit with the Tubbs family on Monday evening from 6:00-8:00p.m. at the Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W 300 N, and again from 10:30-11:30a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Horsley Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent to www.horsleyfuneralhome.com.
