Thomas Isacc Bloxham

Bloxham, Thomas – 26, Feb 1906

Thomas Isacc Bloxham, 89, longtime Downey area resident passed away Monday May 29, in the Logan regional Hospital.

He was born Febuary 26, 1906, in Woodland, Idaho, a son of Richard Thomas and Elsie Henderson Bloxham. He wa “sic” raised and educated in Woodland. As a young man he had worked in a sugar factory in Worland, Wyoming. He married Dorthy Hadley April 24, 1930 in Pocatello, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on November 10, 1952.

Mr. Bloxham had farmed and ranched for many years in the Downey area, and also managed the John Deer Implement Co. and the Texaco station in Downey. He was a lifetime member of the Downey’s Lion Club, and was the only member to serve twice as president. He was the president of the Downey Farm Bureau and chairman and vice-president of the Bannock Co. South Fair for ten years. He served six years on the board of directors of the Portneuf River and 21 years as secretary, 3 years as president, and ten years as manager. In 1983 he was inducted into the Idaho Water Users Hall of Fame. The past three years, he and his wife had resided in Malad.

He is survived by his wife Dorthy, of Malad; 1 son and wife; Val (Buster) and Madlyn Bloxham of Hacienda Heights, CA; 2 daughters and husbands, Sharon and Blair Thorpe of Malad; and Beth and Dee Treasure of Roy, Utah. 14 grandchildren, 34 great-grand children; four brothers, Don Bloxham of Hazelton, Idaho; Meryl Bloxham of Downey; 5 sisters, Idona Hamilton of Brigham City, Utah; Vera Leland of Idaho Falls; Dora Christensen of Arimo; Jenny Hendricks of Logan, Utah and Verdis Cox of Idaho Falls. He was proceeded in death by one son, Gordan (Pete) Bloxham and two grandchildren, Tammy Thorpe Price and Marty Treasure.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, May 31 in Virginia LDS Ward Chapel, with Bishop Randy Buxton officiating. Burial was in the Downey City Cemetery.
