Dan Pierce Rites Held Wednesday

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Stake Tabernacle for Daniel Pierce, 21, who died at the family home on Monday morning [Sept. 26, 1938], following a two months illness. Bishop Henry Jones of St. John presided at the services and Andie Talbot offered the invocation. Musical numbers were furnished by a male quartet composed of Morgan and Lester Tovey, Edward Woozley and Melvin Yearsley; and Mrs. Margaret E. Jones, Speakers were Arch Harris, J. M. Isaacson and Dr. Thomas W. Richards, with closing remarks by the bishop. Benediction was by R. A. Blaisdell and the grave was dedicated by F. M. Deschamps. Interment was in the St. John cemetery.

Thomas Daniel Pierce was born June 20, 1917, the son of Thomas and Nellie James Pierce. He lived in St. John, attending school there and later attending the Malad High School. He was well known and liked by all for his cheerful nature.

He is survived by his parents, one brother Delmar Pierce and a sister Mrs. Rulon Jones of Pleasantview.

A. McKinnon of Pocatello.
