Thelma May Godfrey

GODFREY, THELMA MAY, July 31, 1927 – December 19, 2004

POCATELLO – Thelma May Godfrey, 77, Pocatello, died December 19, 2004 in Branson, Missouri at Skaggs Hospital. She was born on July 31, 1927 in Malad, Idaho to Willard and Thelma May Hill Archibald. Her mother passed away in child birth. Willard Archibald later married Edith Hill Archibald and together they raised Thelma along with her brother Ivan Archibald, sisters, Wilda Ann Armstrong Archibald and Margaret Millward Archibald.

Thelma married Keith E. Godfrey on January 29, 1944. They had six children, Judy Packer Godfrey, Willis Ivan Godfrey, Terry (Gerald) Sutphin, Patricia Rogers, Pamela (Ken) Firebaugh and Donald Godfrey; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, mother, two children, a daughter and a son, two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

She devoted her life to helping others. Thelma was employed by Pocatello School District #245 in the school lunch program for 22 years, including several years as the assistant school lunch coordinator.

Currently she was a volunteer for the Portneuf Medical Center Auxiliary and the Pocatello School District’s Grandparent Program. Thelma was nominated for the treasurer of the Local AARPs.

Her greatest love was her family, friends and traveling. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held December 27, 2004 in the Cornelison-Henderson Funeral Chapel, Pocatello, with Bishop Robert Archibald, a nephew, conducting.
