Smithfield…………….Tanner Arthur Navvab-Safavi, 20, of Smithfield, passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2008 in Malad, Idaho. Our beautiful black-eyed baby boy came to us April 22, 1988 in Logan, Utah a son of Farzin and Lynne Smith Navvab-Safavi. He grew up and was educated in Smithfield and was a graduate of Skyview High School class of 2006. Tanner had planned on attending Utah State University this fall. He has lived in Smithfield, Mountain View, Wyoming and Boise. Tanner loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and especially enjoyed spending time with his family. With Tanner’s strong will and personality, he made every day exciting for family and friends. He is survived by his father; Farzin of Boise; his mother Lynne (Lyle) Geary of Smithfield; 2 brothers; Tyson (Sarah) Safavi of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Hayden of Boise, Idaho; a sister; Brittney (Derek) Tims of Mountain View, Wyoming. 1 niece; Baylee Tims and 2 nephews; Carson and Isaac Tims, all of Wyoming. A stepbrother; Cortney (Shae) Geary on Benson, Utah; 2 step sisters; Mandee and Joni Geary both of Logan, Utah. Grandmother; Peggy Smith of Malad; grandfather; Arthur “Doc” Smith of Malad; Grandmother Safavi of Tehran, Iran; step-grandmother; Roberta Geary of Smithfield, Utah. Tanner was preceded in death by grandfather Safavi and grandfather Geary. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 12 noon in the Nelson Funeral Home 85 S. Main St. in Smithfield where friends may visit with the Safavi family from 10:00-11:30 am. Burial; will follow in the Smithfield Cemetery.
