Stephen Thomas Lusk (1946-2025)

Stephen Thomas Lusk, 79, of Arbon, Idaho, peacefully passed away in his home on November 4, 2025. He was born in Pocatello, Idaho on March 3, 1946 to David Wayne Lusk and Bette Anne Neilsen Lusk. A few years later, he was joined by his sister, Sue, and his brother, Dave. He attended Arbon Elementary and graduated from American Falls High School in 1964.

In his youth, Steve loved to hunt and fish, but most of all, he loved working with his dad on their family ranch. He attended a semester at the University of Idaho, then changed directions to come back home. He found purpose and passion building roads in Power County that led him along the beautiful path of life, with his love by his side, in the vast valley of Arbon.

At 19 years old, Steve met CaroLynne Hatch at the McCammon Rodeo. The two lovebirds were married for time and eternity in the Salt Lake Temple, on September 17, 1965, and they planted their family roots in Arbon, where six strong and handsome men joined them on their adventure.

With a huge heart, Steve served relentlessly, giving his time and talents to build his home and community. He devoted 47 years to the Power County Highway District and ensured safe and solid routes that can withstand time and elements. He had a firm testimony of the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, with a faith that could move mountains (or build bridges). Steve was an innovative craftsman, and a frugal fixer who passed his skillset onto his posterity.

Steve was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his son, Brett Wayne. His loving family remains, including his wife, CaroLynne, his sons Drew (Jessica)- Blackfoot, Ross (Heidi)- Rigby, Jared (Deana)- Arbon, Kade (Shancy)- Soda Springs, and Seth (Hailey)- American Falls. He loved his family with all of his heart, especially his 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, and most of all his beautiful wife.

You are invited to reminisce with us as we celebrate this wonderful man’s life.
