Malad, Idaho… Sherma Hall Shepherd, 73, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Thursday July 30th,2026 from metastatic breast cancer. Sherma was born on May 11, 1953 in Pocatello Idaho, daughter of Cordell and Geraldine Hall. She was raised in Pocatello, Idaho.

She married Gary Shepherd on December 5, 1969 in Pocatello, Idaho. They made their home In Malad, where they helped Gary’s parents, Lewis and Blanche operate the Dude Ranch Café, in 1978 they took over the business. Sherma was well known for her delicious homemade pies. When she wasn’t working, Sherma and Gary loved traveling the world together , she enjoyed organizing trips, inviting friends and family to join them on their next adventure. She cherished their time traveling and created fond memories shared by many.

She is survived by her husband, Gary and their 3 daughters: Lisa (Shane) Willie of Holbrook, Chan (Hayden) Blackett of Pocatello, Nicole (Geoff) Green of Malad. 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. 4 siblings: Ellen, Morgan, Dave and Juanita. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may visit the funeral home the evening of Monday, August 10 from 7-9pm and Tuesday from 10-11:45 am. A private memorial service will be held on Tuesday August 11, 2026 at 12 noon in the Horsley Funeral Home , 132 W 300 N, Malad.
