Sheldon Dale (Tad) Treasure

OGDEN – Sheldon Dale (Tad) Treasure, 61, passed away peacefully at his home in Pleasant View on Sunday, June 7, 1998, of cancer.
He was born in Downey, Idaho on September 20, 1936, to John Treasure and Mattie Williams. He married Janette Gilgen on October 4, 1958, in Downey, Idaho. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on March 24, 1964.
He was a member of the Pleasant view LDS 1st Ward. He was active many years with the church youth program, scout leader, coach, quorum advisor, elder quorum, Stake Mission President, and home teacher.
He served as Pleasant View Little League Athletic Football Director as well as coached for 15 years, and served as W.F.F.L. for 15 years, coached recreation basketball, baseball and softball.
Tad worked at Marquardt Corp as a journeyman electrician for 11 years after moving to Ogden. He was owner and operator of his own business as a fire equipment technician in sales and service up until his death. He was a licensed real estate agent.
He served in his church and community working with the youth in work and in play unselfishly. He loved a good fishing trip to Montana often with his sons and daughters or anyone with a fishing pole ready. He loved sports, hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling with his wife sightseeing. He loved the challenge of rebuilding wrecked autos, some challenges were larger than others. Most of all he loved his family and people.
Surviving are his wife Janette, Pleasant View; three sons, Rick (Tonya) Treasure, Thatcher, Utah; Marty (Tonya) Treasure, Highland, Utah; Jason (Traci) Treasure, Pleasant View, Utah; two daughters, Jann (Brian) Ballif, Far West, Utah; Elene Treasure, Pleasant View, Utah; and 13 grandchildren. He is also survived by four brothers, Monte Treasure, Aberdeen, Idaho; Robert Treasure, Malad, Idaho: Barry Treasure, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Ron Treasure, Louisville, Kentucky; and two sisters, Fay (Richard) Jones, Pleasant View, Utah; and Marilyn (Jr.) Naef, Downey, Idaho.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations be made to Bishop Jerry Simon for a community youth organization, 1620 W. Pleasant View Drive, Pleasant View, UT 84414.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11, 1998, at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel in Ogden, 845 Washington Blvd., with Bishop Jerald Simon officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.
