SHELBA THOMAS
MALAD – Shelba Thomas, 79, of Malad, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2000, at her home of natural causes.

She was born February 6, 1921, in Malad, a daughter of Henry and Pearl Ward Thomas. She attended school in Malad, and was a graduate of Malad High School. Shelba attended Utah State University for two years, and graduated from Brigham Young University in education. She taught school in Milford and Grantsville, Utah, Preston and Malad, and for many years at Idaho Falls High School.

Shelba enjoyed flowers, gardening and traveling. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include two brothers, Rollin (Helen) Thomas of Soda Springs, B. L. (Kathryn) Thomas of Salt Lake City, Utah; one sister, Janice (Robert) Colson of Clayton, California; and many nieces and nephews to whom she was a very special aunt. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers H. Ward and Bert.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2000, at noon in the Malad LDS First Ward Chapel, 3808 W. 400 N. Friends may call at the Benson-Horsley Funeral Home, 132 W. 300 N. this evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Malad City Cemetery.
