Mrs. Joseph McKay Dies at 72 Years

Mrs. Joseph McKay, a woman who has been very active in community affairs in Malad for many years passed away at her home on Saturday afternoon, January 7 after an illness of five years.

Mrs. McKay, the daughter of Morgan and Sarah William Jenkins, was born at Glamorganshire, Wales on October 22, 1860 and came with her family to this country when a girl of about five or six years of age. She has resided in Malad ever since that time and is the last of a family of ten children.

On December 12, 1885, she married Joseph McKay who with their three children, Mrs. T.F. Budge, Mrs. George Dalton and Mrs. Eugenne Dalton, all of Malad still survive.

Mrs. McKay was a very active member of the LDS church and has occupied a number of church positions.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at one o’clock at the First Ward chapel with Bishop J.H. Dredge presiding.
