Sara Stone dies Tuesday

LOGAN–Sara Emma Crowther Stone, 95, died Tuesday, August 11, 1981 of natural causes in Logan. She was born November 26, 1885 in Logan, the daughter of Joseph and Sarah Ann Clark Crowther. She married David Lehi Stone, December 21, 1905 in the Logan LDS Temple. He died June 20, 1975. She had lived in Daniels before moving to Logan where she lived for the rest of her life.

She was active in the LDS Church and served in many callings. She was Relief Society President, Primary President, Ward Chorister and an Officiator in the Logan Temple. She also sang with the Logan LDS Singing Mothers.

Surviving are five daughters and two sons: Mrs. Guy (Hazel S.) Bolingbroke, Pocatello; Mrs. Louis (Veda S.) Rist, Wellsville, Utah; Mrs. Don (Mary S.) Britzell, Logan; Mrs. Owen (Ila Mae S.) Anderson, Logan; Mrs. Sherman (Norma S.) Coleman, Sunset, Utah; David Areil Stone, Pocatello and Joseph Howard Stone, Weiser, Idaho. She was proceeded in death by two daughters, Mabel S. Clark and Ruth Stone.

Also surviving are 29 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren and one brother and one sister, George Clifton Crowther of Salt Lake and Mrs. Eliza LaRue Moffat, Ogden, Utah.

Funeral services will be held Friday, August 14, at 1:00 p.m. in the Nelson Funeral Home in Logan. Friends may call at the Mortuary Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and one hour prior to services Friday. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
