
GUAZZINI, SAMUEL RAY, January 22, 1953 – August 17, 2008
Samuel Ray Guazzini, 55, life-long resident of Fallon, Nevada, passed away at Banner Churchill Community Hospital on August 17, 2008, with his family by his side after a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Sam was born in Fallon on January 22, 1953, to Louie and Lila Guazzini. He attended schools in Fallon, graduating from Churchill County High School. While attending school, Sam was very active in FFA, holding many offices over the years including State President. In his senior year, he was awarded the American Farmer Award. He was an active supporter of the FFA over his lifetime. Sam’s life revolved around farming and cattle and his family. He did take time to enjoy sports of all kinds, attending Wolf Pack games and rooting for the 49ers on TV.
Sam worked since his early high school days at Gallagher’s Livestock Sale every week until it shut down several years ago. He had been a member of the Fallon/Churchill Volunteer Fire Dept. for many years, retiring because of his health.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents. Sam is survived by his wife, Danielle Guazzini; daughters, Samantha Guazzini and Michelle Sanders; sons, Sam Guazzini and Danny Jeppsen; parents; brother and sister-in-law Ted and Loretta Guazzini; sister and brother-in-law Morena and Gary Heser all of Fallon; sister and brother-in-law Virginia and Jeff Knight of Reno; grandchildren Dustin, Monique, Dakota, Makenzie, Taylor, Kialyr and Jaylyn; numerous nieces and nephews; several great aunts and uncles and cousins; brother-in-law Billy (Gwen) Evans; brother-in-law Kim (Sue) Evans and sister-in-law Marie (Bill) Neal of Malad; and brother-in-law Mark (Shaleen) Evans of Bullhead City, Arizona.
A celebration of Sam’s life was held on August 24, 2008 at The Gardens Chapel with burial in The Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Gardens Funeral Home, Crematory and Cemetery.
