Samuel A. Backman – Birth 11 April 1892

CENTERVILLE – Samuel Arthur Backman, 48 died at 11 p.m. (1940) last night following a heart attack after returning from the theater.

He was born April 11, 1892, in Centerville, son of John August and Sarah E. Duncan Backman. He was a Church member and was employed by the Cudahy Packing Company.

Mr. Backman’s wife, Margaret Parensen Backman, died Dec. 17, 1936. He is survived by his mother; one son, Samuel A. Backman Jr.; four brothers: John A., Clarence William, Walter E. and David A. Backman, all of Centerville; two sisters, Mrs. Scott Gamble of Malta, Ida., and Mrs. William T. Bernard of American Falls, Ida.

Burial will be in the Centerville Cemetery and funeral will be announced by the Union Mortuary of Bountiful.
