Russell Lorin Sortor, 79, of Samaria, Idaho, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2015. Russell was born on April 26,1935 to William F. and Mary Ann Sortor. He was the fourth of nine children. Russell married Bula May Reed on May 9, 1953 in Idaho Falls, Idaho. They had 5 children. They made their home in Samaria in 1997. He was very well known and active in the community. He was very kind and joked around with everyone he encountered along the way. He will be missed by all that knew him. Russell is survived by his wife Bula May; 5 children: Linda Janell Steed (60), Caryl Ann (James) Hill (58), Janet Marie (Mark) Cook (57), Russell Lorin (Laura) Sortor Jr. (55), Rick Dee (Debbie) Sortor (53); 16 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 2 brothers: Lloyd (Shirley) Sortor and Bill (Marsha) Sortor; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 4 at 11:00 a.m. in the Malad LDS Second Ward Chapel. 20 S. 100 W. Friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday from 9:30-10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
