Russell Allan Jacobson

JACOBSON, RUSSELL ALLAN, October 22, 1947 – September 11, 2006

WESTON – Russell Allan Jacobson, 58, of Weston and husband of Sara Beth Peterson Jacobson, passed away on September 11, 2006 following a two year battle with cancer.

He was born October 22, 1947 in Madelia, Minn., a son of Alfred and Arlene Kelly Jacobson. He attended schools in Minnesota and South Dakota. He was proud to have served in the Army from 1968-1970, and had served a one year tour of duty in Vietnam, and was awarded several citations, including the Bronze Star. Russell was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

He married Sara Beth Petersen on December 28, 1971. Following their marriage, they moved to Utah and later settled in Weston.

Russ was a brick mason by trade. He loved to fish, hunt, camp and spend time in his boat. When he was still able, he enjoyed riding horses and his Harley motorcycles. He was a member of the Pocatello branch of ABATE, a charter member of the Eastern Idaho Bros Club and a member of the American Quarter Horse Association.

Russ is survived by his wife, Sara, of Weston; two daughters, Tibi (Jeremy) Brimhall of Spanish Fork, Utah, and Tara Norris of Malad, Idaho; two grandchildren, Ashley and Jason; and his two best little buddies, Jentry Brandon and Cody Miner; his mother, Arlene, of Madelia, Minn.; two brothers, John and Chris, sister Cheryl (Isauro) Armendariz, all of Madelia, Minn. He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred and his brother, Craig.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 15, 2006 at noon in the Horsley Funeral Home, Malad, Idaho. Friends may call at the funeral home this evening, Thursday, Sept. 14 from 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10:30 – 11:45 a.m. Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery.
