Rulon VanNoy Osmond

HYDE PARK – Rulon VanNoy Osmond, 87, passed away August 29, 2001. He was born June 22, 1914, in Thayne, Wyoming to Rulon and Agnes LaVerna VanNoy Osmond. He married Norma Kennington, September 29, 1937, in the Logan Temple.
There were few jobs that Rulon hadn’t tried, from the oil field to a taxi cab driver. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, after which he bought a farm in Freedom, Wyoming.
Five children were born into this family. Rulon Robert (LuGene), Alonzo Richard (Helen), Vern Jay (Linda), Darlene, and Blaine Lee (Dana). He has 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Rulon helped organize Cache Valley Breeding Association and was the manager at the time of his retirement in 1980.
Rulon was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many different capacities. He had a great love for his friends, neighbors, and family.
Rulon is survived by his wife, four sons, one daughter, one brother, George V. Osmond (Olive), one sister, Cora Thinnes (Dell), and a great posterity. His parents and one brother have preceded him in death.
The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Logan Regional Hospital. Also to the wonderful friends and neighbors who were there for him and Norma.
Funeral services will be under the direction of the AHen-Cranney Mortuary. There will be a viewing at the mortuary, 420 East 1800 North, North Logan on Friday evening, August 31, 2001, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Another viewing will be on Saturday, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hyde Park Stake Center at 535 East 200 South and the funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. He will be buried in the Afton, Wyoming Cemetery.
