Roy Allen Brown

Roy Allen Brown, 60, of Pocatello passed away on Thursday, April 15, 2010 in his home in Pocatello after battling pancreatic cancer.
Roy was born November 11, 1949 in Malad, Idaho to Leo Henry Brown and Leora Ipsen Brown. He grew up in Malad and graduated from Malad High School.
He attended Idaho State University where he met and later married Jeanne Lorraine Pierson on April 27, 1973 at Kimberly, Idaho. Roy has lived in Pocatello for his entire adult life.
Roy was active I n the Idaho Army National Guard from 1969 to 1995. While in the Guard, Roy was promoted to First Sergeant of the Headquarters Battery of the 1-148 Field Artillery, located in Pocatello.
During his time in the National Guard, Roy started to buy, fix and sell cars. This interest led him to establishing R&J Auto of Pocatello. Roy has many friends in the car business.
Roy also bought the family farm in 1994. He spent many years improving the farm, which has become the center for the Brown reunions.
Roy is survived by his wife Jeanne of Pocatello, four sons, Allen (Amy) of Pocatello, Jarod (Sherry) of Pocatello, Kevin (Christina) of Pocatello and Kelly (Ashley) of Pocatello; six grandchildren, Kenneth, Shyann, Ashlyn, Savannah, Jake and Case.
Roy is also survived by his mother, Leora, of Malad, brother Jim (Dawn) of Perth, Australia, Boyd (Shirlene) of Clinton, Utah; Dennis (Laurie) of Rigby, Idaho and sister, Janielle (Jerry) Swore of Pocatello.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Henry Brown.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
