Rosella Whitaker Dalton (Birth 12 Dec 1830/Death 03 June 1898)

OBITUARY
Rosella Whitaker Dalton, wife of M. W. Dalton of Willard, after a lingering illness, died June 3, 1898, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. W. Compton, in Brigham City, whence she had gone for medical aid.
She was born Dec. 12, 1830, in Fairview, Buncombe county, North Carolina, and emigrated to Utah in 1850. She had been a member of the Church since childhood and experienced the persecutions and trials of the Saints in Missouri and Illinois. She was married to M. W. Dalton Dec. 15, 1850, in Ogden, where they resided till 1854, moving from there to Willard City, which has been their home to the time of her death.
She was the mother of nine children, twenty-eight grand children and two great grandchildren. She has ever been a kind and loving wife and mother and a faithful Latter-day Saint. She was the daughter of James and Melinda F. Whitaker.
Her body was removed to Willard where the funeral services were held at the meeting house on Sunday, June 5. The speakers were Thomas S. Woodland, William Horsley, J. L. Edwards, Daniel Zundel and Bishop A. Zundel, who spoke kind words of consolation and of hope of a glorious resurrection.
Quite a number of relatives of the deceased were present from distant points in Utah and Idaho.
A large cortege of vehicles and people followed the remains to the cemetery.
