Robert Eskelson Hayes

Swan Lake….Robert Eskelson Hayes (Bob), age 82, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2013, at his home in Swan Lake, Idaho. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Robert Hayes was born July 29, 1930, in Rupert, Idaho, to Alfred Hayes Jr. and Sylvia Rayda Eskelson Hayes. He was the middle child with two older and two younger brothers. He graduated from American Fork High School and after graduation entered the Navy because he wanted an adventure. After retiring from the Navy, he opened a welding and machine shop in Preston, Idaho. He was a hard worker and could fix anything. When he sold his shop, he went to work at Hill Field Air Force Base and then at the military base in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He loved to go hunting and fishing. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many leadership positions.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter Barbara Dee; brothers, Junior Alfred, William, Lawrence and previous spouses, Arlene Venable and DeVola King (Div).

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Ling, whom he married on October 17, 2010. The family is grateful to her for her loving and kind devotion to Dad. Robert is also survived by his brother Daryll Hayes; his children from DeVola, Vickie (Marv Paxton); Robert (Joene); Larry (RaeLyn); Michael (Emiliya), 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 5 Stepchildren and 4 step-grandchildren from Arlene.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 12 noon in the Swan Lake LDS Chapel. Friends may visit with the family on Friday evening from 7:00-8:00 p.m. at the church and again on Saturday morning from 10:30-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to the service.
