Peggy Marlene Evans Jones

Peggy was born to Richard Eli and Ethel Evan’s on October 22, 1934. Peggy was the youngest of all of her siblings. She was born in and raised in Malad. Peggy graduated from Malad high in 1952. In her senior year, she was voted the most beautiful girl in Malad and the contest was judged by Hollywood actor, Jeff Chandler. She was beautiful both inside and out. After graduation, Peggy was employed by Mountain Bell Telephone Co. On July 1, 1954 Peggy married the love of her life Richard R.”Dick” Jones. The couple was blessed by the birth of a son Michael R. Jones on January 26, 1955 and a Daughter Lucinda Jones on January 26, 1963. After marriage, the couple lived in Salt Lake City, Utah for a short while before relocating to Pocatello, Idaho. While in Pocatello, Peggy was the quintessential housewife of the era. She loved her family and seeing to their welfare was her first priority. She loved her family dearly. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved ones, especially camping and fishing. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents Eli and Ethel Evans. Siblings Laura Evan’s Hall, Wanda Evan’s Day, Cleo Evan’s, Nadene Evans Cleare, Carol Evans Gilgen. She is survived by brother Edward D. “Dean” Evans of Malad, ID. Son, Michael R. Jones(Stacey) of Rome Georgia. Daughter, Lucinda Jones Wilcken of Pocatello, ID. Grandsons, Richard R. Jones of Pocatello, ID. Thomas E. Wilcken of Pocatello, ID. Jacob Jones of Rome Georgia. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14 at 1 p.m. in the Horsley Funeral Home.  Friends may visit with the family prior to the funeral from 11:30-12:45.  Burial will follow in the Malad City Cemetery
