Pearl Burton Bybee

DOWNEY, ID- Pearl Burton Bybee, 84, of Downey and wife of Lloyd A. Bybee, who passed away March 3, passed away on Monday, March 20, 2000, in the Franklin County Care Center.
She was born November 16, 1915, in Downey, a daughter of William Johnson and Mary Christa Simpson Burton. She was raised and educated in Downey, and while in high school played basketball, where she was known as “Perky Burton.”
She married Lloyd A. Bybee May 15, 1936, in Pocatello, and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan, Utah LDS Temple in 1965.
She had worked for the Downey Confectionery, Downata Hot Springs, the Garriston Drug Store and for the Downey U.S. Post Office. Pearl enjoyed quilting, embroidering, flower gardening, and love dancing, music and cooking.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Pearl is survived by her son, Darrell (Lois) Bybee of Downey; a daughter, Sherry Gimpel of Idaho Falls; one brother, Elward “Snub” (Donna) Burton of Downey; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, five great–great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 10 brothers and sisters, and one great-grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 24, at noon in the Marsh Valley Funeral Home, 570 N. Meadowview Drive, Arimo. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Downey City Cemetery.
