Pearl Beth Wharton Gill Hancock, 82 longtime Downey area resident, passed away at her home Saturday, August 19, 1995.
 She was born September 6, 1912 in Jackson, Arkansas, a daughter of Nathaniel and Cintha Uptain Wharton. She grew up in Arkansas, being the sixth of seven children.
 In 1928 she moved to Idaho and married Joseph Arnold Gill in 1934. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple. They made their home in Malad, and farmed in the Daniels area. Mr. Gill died in 1959.
 She had worked as a housekeeper for several years, and later as a seamstress. In June of 1968 she married Roscoe Hancock. They lived in Cambridge, where they owned and operated a dairy. After retiring in 1974 they moved to Downey, where they since have lived. She was a active member of the LDS Church.  She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and spending time with her family, whom she loved very much.
 She is survived by her husband, Roscoe Hancock, of Downey; one son, Devayne Arnal Gill, also of Downey; two grand-children; also surviving several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held  Tuesday at noon in the Downey LDS Ward Chapel. Burial was in the Malad City Cemetery.
