Oscar J. Swenson Dies Wednesday

Funeral services for Oscar J. Swenson, 68, who died at the Oneida hospital Wednesday of a coronary thrombosis will be held at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the Malad Third ward with Bishop Jess Hughes presiding.

Mr. Swenson, a farmer in Arbon valley all of his adult life, was born in Sweden July 1. 1881, a son of Fredrick and Wilhelmina Forsberg Swenson. He came to America with his parents that same year and the family settled first at Logan, Utah. On March 19, 1902 Mr. Swenson, was married, to Isabell Andrews and they became the parents of eight children, seven of whom are still living. Mr. Swenson was a member of the LDS church.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Royal O., Bartell and Vade Swenson, all of Malad; four daughters, Mrs. Venice Davis, San Francisco, Calif.; Mrs. Valois Wickam, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Gladys Vaughan and Mrs. Wanda Goddard. both of Malad; three sisters, Christina Jensen, Hilvia Upton and Millie Collett, all of Ogden.
