Orvil Christian Christensen (Birth – Dec. 27, 1908)

Funeral services for Orvil Christian Christensen, 53, who died Friday morning (18 April 1962) in an Elko, Nevada hospital of a heart ailment, were conducted Monday, April 23, at the Malad 3rd LDS ward chapel with Bishop Hubert Gleed officiating

Relief Society supervising.

Casket bearers were J. Lester Jones, Lester T. Jones, Farrell Williams, Varlo Price, Jim Weaver and Ted Young. Funeral was under the direction of Benson Funeral Home.

Mr. Christensen was born Dec. 27, 1908, at Downey, a son of Christian and Helen Fox Christensen.

He married Angelina Williams Sept. 5, 1933, at Malad.

He moved from Downey to Carlin, Nev., in Dec. 1942. He was a railroad conductor for the Southern Pacific and an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Survivors include his widow, Carlin, Nev.; two sons and two daughters; Keith R. Christensen, Malad; Orvil W. Christensen and Angie Christensen, both of Carlin; Mrs. Letha Karr, Elko; three grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters; Arvis L. Christensen, Bancroft; George R. Christensen, Ogden; Virgil S. Christensen, Ontario, Oregon; Mrs. Helen Green, McCammon; Mrs. Areita Kyneston, Nyssa, Ore.; Mrs. Leora Booth, Murray, and Mrs. Colleen Keller, Salt Lake City.
