Orpha Shelton Larsen Penrose

MURRAY—Oipha Shelton Larsen Penrose died January 6, 1998, at the home of a son.
Born December 18, 1910, in Malad, Idaho to John William Larsen and Dora Alverta Shelton. Married Elwood Don Penrose June 7, 1932, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died November 5, 1988.
Grandma enjoyed the many 4-wheeling trips to Canyonlands with her family, although she sometimes preferred to walk some of the obstacles instead of ride. She enjoyed collecting rocks and tending her rock garden and roses. A devoted mother and grandmother, she will be greatly missed.
Survived by daughter, Marilyn (Bud) Askie, Taylorsville; sons, Elwood Don (Betty) Penrose Jr., Mukiteo, WA; Lowell J. (JoAnn) Penrose, Murray; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, lla Bott, Dora Maier, both Rupert, Idaho; Elma Timmons, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by a daughter, Carol P. Wheat; three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 10, at 12 noon at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, where friends may call Friday, 6-8 p.m. and Saturday one hour prior to service. Interment, Lake Hills Memorial Park. Funeral directors, Deseret Mortuary.
